Mike Edwards was born in Port Elizabeth in 1938. He obtained a Bachelor of Fina Arts and Maters in Fine Arts from the University of Bloemfontein.
His first teaching post was in Bloemfontein where he became head of the art department. He has exhibited in group shows since 1959 in South Afric,a America, UK, and Germany and solo exhibitions in Johannesburg, Durban, Bloemfontein, and Kimberley.
