Anton Gericke

Anton Gericke was born in Johannesburg in 1947. He traveled extensively with his parents being in the hotel trade.

He painted his first oil painting at the age of eight and was immediately recognized as a talented young person as he painted the staff of one of the hotels. Although Anton has a great love for music and art he studied to be a pharmacist at the University of Potchefstroom.

He attended numerous art courses at the Technicon of Port Elizabeth with other popular South African artists. He was particularly influenced by Errol Boyley, Wessel Marais, Isabel le Roux, Pieter Millard and Dale Elliot but has developed his own style of painting.
