Francois De Wet

Francois De Wet was born in Cape Town South Africa in 1951

When he was still very young, his family moved to Zambia, where he was raised and schooled. After completing his education, he moved to Namibia, where he became a game ranger in the famous Etosha National Park and later worked for a well known Safari Company in Namibia. It was during this period that his devotion to wildlife turned into a talent as a wildlife sculptor. Francois is a commissioned sculptor, but occasionally creates pieces from inspiration, like the “MANDELA” bronze. His work is recognized for its attention to detail, capturing the natural movement and spirit of each subject.

Francois exhibits his art in major galleries and has had success with Christies in London. Many of his sculptures have been purchased by local and international collectors.
